President Rumen Radev and Joël Barre, Director General of France's Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), who is visiting Bulgaria, on May 31, discussed the opportunities for deepening cooperation between Bulgaria and France in the areas of military technology and in the area of defence and security.
Aspects of NATO's new Strategic Concept and more specifically the strengthening of the Alliance's Eastern flank were also on the agenda.
Rumen Radev and Joël Barre also discussed the prospects for cooperation in the defence industry and the possibilities for joint exercises. They also discussed France's support for ensuring Bulgaria’s air sovereignty and the potential for bilateral defence projects.
