Draft national plan for introduction of the euro in Bulgaria will be discussed at Cabinet meeting

The darft of the national plan for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria in 2024 was presented to the Council of Ministers' meeting for discussion on May 27. This became clear from the words of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov before the start of the meeting. The item was not on the original agenda.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Ministry of Education and Science for the package of measures it has proposed for consideration by the Cabinet:

• a programme to support children with outstanding gifts
• an increase of 50% in PhD scholarships retrospectively from 1 April 2022 to BGN 750.
• additional funds for reconstruction of nurseries, kindergartens and schools
• BGN 30 million to invest in children from vulnerable social groups.
