The three bears cubs found abandoned in the Rhodope Mountains (Southern Bulgaria) in June last year. were relased back to the wild by teams of Ministry of Environment and Water, the “Four Paws” Foundation and the WWF nature conservation organisation.
In the summer of 2021, a team of the Regional Inspection of Environment and Waters in Smolyan found the three baby bears Huba, Vihar and Goran stressed, scared and without a mother. For a short period of time they were accommodated in the "Bear Park" in Belitsa. Until May 17, they were accommodated in the Greek "Arktouros" sanctuary, where there are conditions for the animals' re-adaptation and their subsequent return to nature.
After a thorough examination, it was found that the bears have reached a suitable age and weight to be released back into the wild. They were transported by specialised vehicles and with the support of specialists from the “Four Paws” Foundation.
