Annual inflation rate in Bulgaria reached 10%, statistics

Annual inflation rate for February 2022 compared to February 2021 is at 10%, Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute reported on March 15. Monthly inflation rate is at 1.4% and the inflation rate since the beginning of the year is at 2.9%.

The biggest rise in food prices in February was reported in the price of tomatoes, peppers, apples, cabbage, cucumbers, flour, chicken, margarine and dairy oils:

• rice: +2.5%
• flour: +4.2%
• bread: +1.1%
• pasta: + 1.3%
• beef: + 2.3%
• pork: + 1.4%
• Poultry meat: + 4.1%
• Non-perishable meat products: + 2.5
• perishable sausages: + 1.6%
• fish: + 0.9%
• whole milk: +3.1
• low-fat fresh milk: +2.9%
• yoghurt: + 0.9%
• cheese: +1.6%
• cheese: +1.1%
• cottage cheese: + 2%
• eggs: + 0.8%
• dairy oils: + 4%
• margarine: + 4.5%
• oil: + 1.0%
• apples: + 5.2%
• citrus and southern fruits: +2.4%
• tomatoes: + 27.4%
• cucumbers: + 17.4%
• cabbage: + 14.3%
• pepper: + 23.3%
• mature onions: +1.4%
• garlic: +2.2%,
• green onions and leeks: +4.9%
• root vegetables (carrots and red beets): +1.4%

In February 2022, there was a decrease in the prices of:

• pork smoked fillet: - 0.1%
• minced meat: - 3.1%
• olive oil: - 2.5%
• potatoes: - 0.3%
