Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teodora Genchovska, met the Secretary General of the Central European Initiative (CEI) Roberto Antonione in connection with the Bulgarian Presidency of the organisation in 2022.
The meeting discussed the priorities of the Bulgarian CEI Presidency 2022 , covering areas such as "Recovery from the Pandemic", "Enhanced Connectivity", "Youth" and "Local Dimension", as well as the activities for their implementation.
Minister Gencovska and Secretary General Antonione agreed that the focus of the CEI Presidency's activities should be on young people. In this context, Minister Genčovská noted that young people are the main beneficiaries of regional cooperation and the future of our societies depends on them.

Later, CEI Secretary General Roberto Antonione also participated in a coordination meeting of the representatives of the agencies responsible for the implementation of the CEI Presidency priorities. It was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Irena Dimitrova.
The participants noted that the preparations for the CEI Presidency are going as planned and identified measures to increase its visibility.
