In my conversations with other ministers, I see the same great motivation for achieving the goals of the coalition agreement. Over 90% had common ideas on how to do this, Bulgaria’s newly elected Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said in a BNT interview on December 13.
The first thing to happen in the Parliament - the new energy committee - to make a review of people with expired mandates in the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. The Minister of Energy should take the first steps to prevent household consumers from entering the open market, Petkov said.
Given that Covid-19 “green certificate” is required in restaurants, an institution such the Council of Ministers should apply the same requirement. The yardstick must be the same, added Prime Minister Petkov.

As regards the revision of the Recovery and Resilience Plan - our European colleagues have made it clear to us that they do not agree to someone having a role in the Prosecutor’s office, above whom there is only God. Regardless of the steps towards the rule of law, we all agreed that we would call on Ivan Geshev, although he has an independent power, we would call on him to resign, he has proven that he is incapable of giving this justice and the Prosecutor's office to work in the way that Bulgarian citizens expect. Everything else loses meaning if we do not have justice and everyone feels equal, said Kiril Petkov.
On the topic of Republic of North Macedonia, he commented that they retain the position of Bulgaria, but the requirements are being upgraded - this should happen in working groups hat work on a monthly basis.
The first meeting of the council of Ministers will be tomorrow, December 14.
