Prime Minister Kiril Petkov's visit to Azerbaijan is postponed, the government press office announced on June 15.
The reason is the Prime Minister's decision to attend the vote in the National Assembly on the budget update, as well as to show the government's support for the Speaker of the National Assembly Nikola Minchev.
The Prime Minister has repeatedly and with strong arguments stated his support for this update, on which tax reliefs for working parents depend, as well as the most significant increase in pensions in the past 10 years, measures to reduce the price of energy sources, petrol and diesel aid, and many other social payments that make the adoption of the new budget a top priority for the government, the statement added.
Prime Minister Kiril Petkov held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today. The two discussed issues of strategic importance for Bulgaria's energy independence. They agreed that the postponed visit should take place at the earliest opportunity.
