Consultations with the President began on December 6 before he hands over the first government forming mandate. President Rumen Radev met with representatives of the parliamentary groups "We Continue the Change", GERB-UDF and Movement for Rights and Freedoms. Talks with the Bulgarian Socialist Party are scheduled for later today and consultations with "There is Such a People", "Democratic Bulgaria" and "Vazrazhdane" are scheduled for tomorrow.

The first round of consultations began with the winner of the November 14 election - "We Continue to Change". The head of state pointed out the great responsibility that rests on them and stressed that the trust of citizens is not given for free and must be maintained constantly.

"The two caretaker governments I appointed under the Bulgarian Constitution have stabilized the country. They have made it clear that there is synergy between people with different political views. You know this very well and you know that an effective government, in the form of a coalition, can exist only if there is mutual respect between the partners. The time of political power resting in one pair of hands has passed and the hope for its restoration was categorically rejected by Bulgarian citizens during the elections," said President Rumen Radev.

Kiril Petkov, co-chairman of “We Continue the Change” said the coalition agreement was ready.

"We managed to make a coalition document, which was finalised last night at midnight and was sent to all our future coalition partners, which summarizes all these joint talks, based on all the topics we discussed during these discussions, plus the format which we expect a future government to be formed," added Kiril Petkov.

Most likely, the first mandate to form a cabinet will be handed over by the president this week. After the meeting, Kiril Petkov did not specify exactly how many ministerial posts each party would receive to give the partners a chance for internal discussion. He confirmed that there will be new ministries.

"There will be one ministry for innovation and growth and the other for state-owned enterprises. We expect to have four deputy prime ministers," he added. Kiril Petkov.

After the elections there is a change and everyone must comply with it, that is how the head of state addressed GERB-UDF.

"You have already declared yourself as a constructive opposition, but I can assure you that just as I was critical of your government, I will be critical of any future government," Rumen Radev said.

GERB-UDF warned that crises are imminent and that is why a new type of dialogue is needed.

"Months of squabbling and repression have marked this year. We need bridges, our society is too divided. During this 1 year, the caretaker government and the presidential institution have further divided society. I hope that in your new term the style of governance will be different," he said. Desislava Atanasova, chairman of the PG of GERB-UDF.

GERB-UDF will not support a left-liberal government. They believe that there will be a presidential quota in the new cabinet.

"According to the announcements, the new government is a facelift of the caretaker one, we will hold it accountable along with all parties that participate and support the government," added Tomislav Donchev.

Before the MRF, the head of state pointed out that the people in three consecutive elections gave their vote for change.

"The expectations of our society are for a regular government and that is why the opinion of each of the parliamentary groups is important for us about the activities of the new parliament, about the expectations related to the work of the future government and its formation," Rumen Radev added.

The three elections are the result of the country's political crisis, MRF leader Mustafa Karadayi said.

"Overcoming the political crisis can happen through dialogue. The country needs a regular cabinet in view of the many crises we face," Mustafa Karadayi said.

The last meeting of the day will be with the representatives of "BSP for Bulgaria".
