At the proposal of the competent authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria, in coordination with Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, Bulgaria on March 18 declared 10 Russian diplomats as persona non grata, giving them 72 hours to leave the country.
Deputy Foreign Minister, Vasil Georgiev, handed over a note verbale to this effect to Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova.
According to the information of the competent authorities, the above-mentioned officials of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria were carrying out activities on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria which are incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
