Bulgarian Sailors in Mariupol: There are no outsiders on board

The company that hired the Bulgarian crew of “Tsarevna” ship had a telephone conversation with the captain and some members of the crew. They provided BNT with part of the recording.

What is happening to the Bulgarian sailors stranded in Mariupol:

"The date is 11 April, the time 10:07 at the moment. We have no outsiders on board. This news that is being spread in the media, that the ship had been overtaken, absolutely does not correspond to any truth. There are no ousiders on board, nor has the crew been threatened by either of the two warring parties. There is food, we are in god health, we have water, even bottled water. We are trying to deal with the situation, keeping the ship going."

"The situation at the port around the ship is normal. There are battles to control the port, which are at a distance from the ship, more than 500 metres. The ship is not under fire and there are no representatives from either side on board."

Earlier today, the Situation Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has spoken again with the sailors of the ship Tsarevna, which is is currently at the Ukrainian port of Mariupo. The sailors are fine, there is no change in the situation, they have not been taken hostage, the Foreign Ministry assures.

The authorities in Bulgaria yesterday denied allegations of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic and Russian media that the Bulgarian vessel is under the control of Ukrainian nationalists from Azov.
