After statements in the media by Minister of Justice, Nadezhda Yordanova, Bulgaria’s anti-corruption commission began checks into signals for alleged violations by Chief Prosecutor, Ivan Geshev, the commission said on January 31
According to Nadezhda Yordanova, she has received numerous such signals related to the actions of the Chief Prosecutor and violations of the law by him.
Therefore, the anti-corruption commission has taken action to examine the content of these signals, in order to check the allegations of Minister Yordanova, in accordance with the powers of the Commission under Art. 6, para. 1, item 7.
Certified copies of the submitted signals and other relevant information from the Ministry of Justice were required, the statement said.
