The price of natural gas will drop by 17.64% as of today, February 1, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission decided.
Thus, in February, natural gas will cost BGN 109.88 per megawatt-hour without fees and charges (excluding prices for access, transmission, excise and VAT) or EUR 56.18 per MWh, calculated according to the BNB fixing.
This price was requested earlier by the public gas supplier "Bulgargaz". The energy watchdog approved the proposal of "Bulgargaz" in a reduced composition from 9 to 5 members.
The price for February 2022 is lower by BGN 23.53 per MWh or by 17.64% compared to the current one in January 2022. For comparison, the prices on the European gas markets in January exceeded 80-85 euros per megawatt-hour.
