Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds and Minister of Finance, Asen Vassilev, is on a working visit to Washington, the government press office reports on February 14.
Vassilev heads a delegation that includes Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov and representatives of the management of Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, public gas supplier “Bulgargaz” and gas transmission operator “Bulgartransgaz”.
During the visit to Washington, the Bulgarian delegation has scheduled meetings at the White House, the State Department, the Department of Commerce and the Department of Energy, as well as with representatives of the Development Finance Agency, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and the Export-Import Bank of America.
The main topics of the talks will be energy diversification, energy efficiency, advanced and green technologies, and climate change.
The delegation will also have a meeting with representatives of American business, organised jointly with the US Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, as well as with the American Business Association for Central Europe and the Nuclear Energy Institute.
After the meetings within the Bulgarian delegation, Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov will continue his visit to the US with visits to Pittsburgh, Houston and Dallas.
