After the protests of farmers from Plovdiv region yesterday, fruit, vegetable and potato producers from Kyustendil region staged a peaceful protest today, March 17.
Their intentions were to block the road from Kyustendil to Sofia for about 2 hours, but they did not get permission to do so.
They do not agree with the existing state policy for support of the sector and the low rates under the support scheme. One of their proposals is to reduce the VAT on fruit and vegetables from 20 to 9%.
