The price of district heating service will rise as Bulgaria has no gas production of its own, the head of the energy regulator EWRC, Stanislav Todorov, said during a hearing in the Energy Committee in Parliament on March 23.
He pointed out to MPs that the situation with gas prices on world markets is calming. However, he said that heating prices are under strong pressure to go upward.
Stanislav Todorov assured that the price of electricity for households will not be raised, but this is not the case with heating and gas.
Whether the increase will take place from 1 April or 1 July will be shown by the analysis of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commision.
