Minister Lorer in Rousse: 260 mil BGN from the Recovery Plan are earmarked for technological modernisation

Opportunities for business support and financing were presented at a conference in Rouse by the Minister of Innovation and Growth, Daniel Lorer, on April 15. He announced that in addition to the 140 million BGN for energy efficiency, 260 million BGN for technological modernisation are envisaged under the Recovery and Resilience Plan in the summer. New funding criteria have also been set for projects to build industrial zones.

"We have a kind of crisis that is coming to an end, followed by an inflation rise, followed by the war in Ukraine, and all this obliges us to work with maximum speed to be able to provide the Bulgarian economy with more funds. One of the important messages we have for business is that the upcoming investments in industrial zones will happen not where the state decides there should be an industrial zone, but where the zone operator can demonstrate real investor interest. This is the main criterion by which projects will be financed. The state will undertake to build the feeder infrastructure to the selected site if its operator can make the case for why it is necessary," said Lorer.

The minister visited the University of Rousse and met with Mayor Pencho Milkov, with whom they discussed important issues for Rousse - the airport, industrial zones, river transport. The mayor said that one of the opportunities for the development of the industrial zone in Rousse is the automotive sector, where, in addition to the existing companies, there is already serious investor interest by new companies.
