The members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) opened a procedure for the early dismissal of the Chief Prosecutor. On 12 April, the magistrates will decide whether to terminate the term of office of Ivan Geshev or not.
SJC accepted as admissible for consideration 5 of the grounds pointed by the Minister of Justice. One was rejected in full, three were approved in part.
Before the meeting today, April 4, Ivan Geshev stressed that Nadezhda Yordanova's proposal was political. The Justice Minister replied that she was exercising her powers under the Constitution.
