One of the children infected with meningitis in a kindergarten in Sofia has died, BNT leaned in the late evening on December 1. This is the first child to have been diagnosed with meningitis. He is 5 years old and was in group 3 of the kindergarten.

Cases of children positive for bacterial meningitis have temporarily closed Kindergarten No. 37 "Magic" in Sofia. Two days ago, samples were taken from 31 children and 8 employees in the kindergarten who were in contact with an infected child. The results of the examination have shown that 16 children and three adults were positive.

Immediately after the positive cases were identified, the examination of the children from the other 10 groups attending the kindergarten was arranged. An online meeting with additional information was organized for the parents.

Today, samples were taken from 250 girls and boys from the kindergarten and their siblings. The results are expected within 48 hours.
