Ukraine insists on the closure of the airspace over the country and delivery of weapons, ammunition, helmets, shells. This became clear after a meeting of the Ukrainian ambassador to Bulgaria, Vitaliy Moskalenko, with the leader of opposition GERB party and former Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov, on March 16. In response, Borissov said that if such a discussion enters Parliament, GERB will support it. He added that he is not satisfied with the position Bulgaria currently holds.
"The sky should be closed where the aggressor's advantage is quite serious and this allows him to bomb our cities, our villages, Ukraine's terrain," said Vitaliy Moskalenko, Ukraine's ambassador to Bulgaria.
"We, as a parliamentary group, colleagues undertake as a commitment to support everything that the ambassador wished - from airspace to sending the necessary weapons. We are NATO, we are EU, we are not a neutral country. We, as a party, will support the government if it brings these issues to Parliament," Boyko Borissov said.
