PM Kiril Petkov: Mafia just lost its coalition partner

The Executive Council of "We Continue the Change" on June 13 gave an extraordinary briefing on current issues.

The briefing takes place after outgoing sport minister, Radostin Vassilev, and MPs announced on June 13 that they were leaving Slavi Trifonov’s “There is Such a People” party.

I count on this type of courage to be contagious and in this parliament we will have a majority of people who say "No" to the mafia, the PM said.

We believe that in this National Assembly there are people who are masters of themselveswill have the courage to stand clearly on the side of the people. If such a majority is not gathered, we will go to elections, Assen Vassilev added.

This government must lead the fight against the mafia and constitutionally this fight depends on enough support in Parliament. If this support is not there, we have to go to the polls, Deputy PM and finance minister, Assen Vassilev noted.
