Police officers and prison wardens staged another protest, this time with a tent camp in front of the Ministry of Finance. The demands are for pay rises and reforms. The initiative is of the trade unions of the Ministry of Interior and Prisons in Bulgaria.
The trade unions announced that as of today, April 1, the amount of the requested increase in the basic salaries of employees in the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice will be 25% and will continue to increase, the trade unions said.
If the demands of the tent camp are not met, the protesters assure that they are ready for more radical protests.
Minister of Justice Nadezhda Yordanova met and talked with the participants in the protest. She invited protesters to a meeting at the Justice Ministry to discuss their demands. She confirmed to journalists that a request for legal assistance had been submitted to the UAE for the interrogation of Vassil Bozhkov.
