Prime Minister Kiril Petkov announced on April 13 that the evacuation of part of the crew of the ship “Tsarevna” - 14 Bulgarians and one Ukrainian citizen - is underway.
They are now outside the port of Mariupol and are to be moved to Donetsk, from where they will return to Bulgaria.
The critical metres they had to travel to leave the ship have been made and they are now safe, PM Petkov said.
The rest of the crew - three Bulgarians, two Ukrainians and the ship's captain - remained on the ship of their own volition.
