Restrictive regime of electricity supply introduced in parts of southern and western Bulgaria

Due to the complicated winter situation, failures in the electricity distribution network and after receiving motivated proposals from energy operators, the Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov introduced a restrictive regime for electricity supply in some settlements in Sofia, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Smolyan, Plovdiv and Kardzhali.

Due to prolonged precipitation and snowstorms, fallen trees and difficult passability of the road network, electricity consumers in the affected areas are without supply of electric power. Restrictions are introduced on the basis of art. 72, para. 1, items 1 and 2, para. 2 and para. 4 of the Energy Act and the requirements of Ordinance № 10 of 2004 on the procedure for introducing a restrictive regime on supply.

Smolyan district

The villages of Bukatsite, Gudevitsa, Lyulka, Sivino, Chereshovo, Chokmanovo, Vievo, Kutela, Kiselichevo, Gabritsa, Colonel Serafimovo, Fatovo, Mugla, Gela, Stikl, Stoykite

20 villages in the district of Smolyan are still experiencing power outages after the torrential rains in the Rhodope mountains region. Mainly in the Municipality of Banite - these are Dryanka, Starnitsa and Glogino, the Smolyan village of Gela and several settlements in the municipality of Madan. 10 generators have been delivered. Today, December 17, teams will continue to work to repair the most serious failures, electricity distribution company said.

The state of emergency situations in the municipalities of Smolyan and Rudozem have been lifted.

Today, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov, is expected to visit Smolyan. He will explain how the affected families will be supported. So far, they are 23. The aid will be financial and provision of food.
