Russian Ambassador to the Bulgarian authorities: Arms supplies unlikely to improve dialogue

I would like to warn the official Bulgarian authorities that the supply of weapons, including of soviet origin, and ammunition to the Ukrainian nationalists is unlikely to add optimism to the bilateral dialogue, which for now is already deteriorated, the Russian Ambassador, Eleonora Mitrofanova, said in a video message on Facebook on March 17.

The gas supplies to Bulgaria are continuous and in full volume, she added.

"Russia has always been a guarantor of energy security at a high level. We highly value this reputation, although we are ready for serious confrontation in the energy sphere", the Russian ambassador said.

Some members of the Bulgarian elite are pushing a thesis of distancing the Russian people from President Vladimir Putin, Mitrofanova added. She commented that this is "a ploy of the fascists, well known since the period of the Great Patriotic War".
