The meeting between Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev and his German counterpart began

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev is paying an official visit to Germany at the invitation of his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

On May 16, the two will have a face-to-face meeting at the Bellevue Palace and will make statements to the media afterwards.

Later today, Rumen Radev will also hold talks with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The Federal Republic of Germany is a strategic partner of our country and a major investor in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian President said.

Radev met yesterday with the Bulgarian community in Berlin. The Head of State pointed out the great importance of this community for the good relations between the two countries.

"My struggle is not against a particular government, but against any corrupt model of governance. I know how difficult that struggle can be. Don't assume that I aim to overthrow the government with my talk. But it is very important for a government that comes with big promises, in severe crises, and it is very important that the policy it pursues is transparent. So, as President, I will not give up this type of talk, attitude and action," Radev told the Bulgarian community in Berlin.
