Petrohan pass is still closed to traffic after the torrential rains in the recent days. The Regional Road Directorate - Montana told BNT on June 14 that they are doing everything possible to re-open the road to traffic by the end of the working day.
"We will do our best to do this within the working day. A temporary traffic organization will be introduced - only for cars weighing up to 3.5 tonnes. This will continue until we repair the problematic section, because there is a big risk for fatal accidents," said Eng. Ivaylo Spasov, Director of RRD - Montana.
At the moment, the traffic restrictions on the problematic section are controlled by the "Traffic Police", but unscrupulous drivers still pass through. The appeal of the authorities is to observe the traffic ban in the section between Gintsi and Barziya, because it poses dangers.
