Acting Prosecutor General, Borislav Sarafov, has submitted to the 51st Parliament a request for lifting the immunity of MP Dzheyhan Ibryamov (Alliance for Rights and Freedoms), the Prosecutor's office said on November 13.
The request for permission to continue the criminal proceedings against him is on the proposal of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office dated November 11, 2024.
The MP was brought to criminal responsibility for two crimes:
The evidence gathered so far, including such gathered by special intelligence devices have been attached to the material submitted to the Parliament.
The criminal proceedings against Ibryamov were suspended on 11.11.2024 on the basis of Article 25, para. 1, item 3 of the Criminal Procedure Code, as he had acquired immunity as a member of the 51st National Assembly.
