“For the first time, BNT has organised coverage of such a major event in such a short period of time,” said the public broadcaster’s Director General.

BNT's Director General, Milena Milotinova, thanked and congratulated the entire team involved in covering the historic event – the return of the mortal remains of Tsar Samuil to Bulgaria.

By this morning, October 5, everything BNT had published digitally in connection with Tsar Samuil’s historic return had received four million views, Milena Milotinova said in the studio of “The Day Begins”.

Bulgarian National Television also provided a broadcast feed of the return of the Bulgarian ruler to other media outlets in Bulgaria and around the world through the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) news exchange.

“Once again, congratulations to all our colleagues, those in front of and behind the camera, who worked on this and whom viewers did not see. With 50 cameras, 40 of them deployed on location in both Bulgaria and Greece, and with all the teams involved, I can say that BNT achieved a very good result. This is the first time BNT has organised coverage of such a major event in such a short time. We provided a television signal to other broadcasters, as well as to television channels abroad. Congratulations to all our colleagues who took part,” Milena Milotinova said.

Another major event is taking place this evening – the pre-premiere screening of the sixth season of “Undercover” at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. BNT Director-General Milena Milotinova thanked the public broadcaster’s loyal viewers and fans of the series after all tickets were sold at the box office in less than two days, meaning there was no need for online sales for 5 October.

BNT has therefore organised a second pre-premiere screening on 6 October, for which tickets are still available.

“So fans who would like to watch the sixth season before its official television premiere can go and buy tickets at the National Palace of Culture box office, where there are still a few available, although more can be found online,” Milotinova explained.
