Border Police received 60 new all-terrain vehicles.
"For the fourth time we are receiving more of the much needed equipment to enable us to successfully carry out our mission of protecting Bulgarian and European borders. Last year we faced record migrant pressure, but we had serious difficulties due to lack of equipment," said Chief Commissioner Anton Zlatanov.
He said that this year Bulgaria had received a total of 220 off-road patrol vehicles and the migrant pressure was 70% lower.
"This is thanks to the efforts of all our colleagues from the green border, the border crossing points, the operatives and the investigating police officers. The results we are achieving find wide public support, and many young people want to work in the Border Police," Chief Commissioner Anton Zlatanov added.
