Farmers are ready for an effective protest over the delayed payment of the so-called "Ukrainian aid" intended to compensate for economic losses due to the war in Ukraine. Yesterday, October 7, the Council of Ministers allocated 200 million BGN of the 325 million BGN needed under the second tranche.
They are giving the finance minister two days to find a solution to the issue, it emerged after a meeting of the board of the National Association of Grain Producers on October 8.
The sector is demanding a meeting with the finance minister to get guarantees that the funds will be received. Yesterday, the Council of Ministers allocated 200 million BGN, which should be transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and from there to the accounts of the farmers.
It is not yet clear whether the rest of the money will be allocated. According to the minister, the money will be paid within a short period of time. The entire amount due should be paid by the end of November.
