Celebration on June 1: Let every day be Children’s Day (Photos)

One hundred balloons with children's messages on them flew in the sky above the National Palace of Culture in Sofia on the occasion of the International Children's Day on June 1.

The event was organized by the State Agency for Child Protection and was under the slogan "Let Every Day be Children’s Day".

The events started with a parade of students from schools in the capital, led by a cheerleading squad and a brass band.

The procession was joined by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Georgi Goyokov.

The programme continued on the stage of the Kabana cinema.

The celebration was organized in partnership with Sofia Municipality. It was attended by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Georgi Goyokov and his political cabinet, as well as representatives of other agencies and organisations.

This year, the State Agency for Child Protection once again focused the celebration on children’s safety on the web.

Through games with prizes, children learn interesting facts and get tips about surfing the Internet from representatives of the Unit for Combating Cybercrime and the Commission for Personal Data Protection.
