Institutions in Bulgaria Now Have Access to European Employers Requirements

People and institutions in Bulgaria now have full and free access to the up-to-date requirements for knowledge, skills and competences for practicing 2,942 professions characteristic of the European labour market, the Bulgarian Industrial Association announced on 17^th of October. Access to the requirements of European employers and the possibility to compare national and European standards will also be useful for educational institutions, school and university students.

The professional standards developed and maintained by the “My Competence” national information system for assessment of competences are now integrated with the European Classification of Skills, Competencies, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO).

Through the use of ESCO classifications and specialized data and tools from MyCompetence, the Bulgarian employment services will be able to exchange information with the relevant EU structures which will make them interoperable in line with the IDA and The European Interoperability Framework (EIF). This compatibility is a prerequisite for the effective operation of the EURES European Job Mobility Portal as it creates the possibility for complaiance between national classifications, and automated search and matching between vacancies and jobseekers' skills. This will be helpful for career orientation, labour mobility, utilization of professional potential and the realization of workforce, both on the Bulgarian and the European labour market, BIA notes.
