"The 26th edition of the international film festival “Sofia Film Fest” , which started this evening (March 10), will present many surprises, with over 80 titles and famous guests.
The award of the Sofia Municipality for contribution to the art of cinema is awarded to the director, screenwriter and writer Angel Wagenstein, in the year of his 100th anniversary.
Special guests of the fest are the masters of directing Tony Palmer and Lech Majewski. Balkan cinema will have a serious presence - the co-productions with Bulgarian participation "How I Learned to Fly" by Radivoje Andric and "Darkness" by Dusan Milic will make their premieres.
The premiere of the film "The Two Sides of the Blade" by Claire Denis, starring Juliette Binoche, opened Sofia Film Fest this evening.
Among the highlights of the programme is the Japanese film "Drive My Car" with 4 Oscar nominations and "Spencer" about Princess Diana with an Oscar nomination for Kristen Stewart.
