The new academic year at the oldest university in Bulgaria, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ochridski”, was officially opened on October 3. The opening ceremony was attended by Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Education, Sasho Penov.
In his words, Alma Mater is the university with the greatest contribution to the development of Bulgarian education and science.
At the end of the ceremony, the Deputy Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Georgi Valchev, and the caretaker Minister handed over the student books to the first-year students, champions in national Olympiads and competitions.
