After the political group GERB repeatedly declared that it will return the second mandate, three parties are ready to take the third one - “Democratic Bulgaria”, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and “There is Such a People”. All three claim they will negotiate with “We Continue the Change” as the largest political formation in the Parliament.
We will not turn down a reached out hand affirm form “We Continue the Change”. The making of ultimatums show a lack of desire to compromise, notes the National Assembly Chairman Miroslav Ivanov.
“They make ultimatums towards us to discharge our leaders - have Mr. Petkov and Mr. Vasilev yielded the national interest? Our leaders have always been open to dialogue. In our party there is no ego, no striving for positions, the positions are not ends in themselves,” declared Ivanov.
PM designate Assen Vassilev returned the mandate to form a government unfulfilled
For BSP, new elections bring risk to the country and danger that we enter in a spiral of elections.
“We converse with everyone with the exception of GERB, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and “Vazrazhdane”. Our main advantage is that we did not enter into conflict with any of the formations. We maintained a civil manner. This is what we will use if we receive the third mandate,” declared Yavor Bozhankov, a politician from BSP.
“Democratic Bulgaria” consider the President’s intention for consultations before the presentation of the third mandate as positive. According to Hristo Ivanov, a reconstruction of the quadruple majority is necessary.
“A slight withdrawal of the leading political surgeons, so that we reduce the perception that the cabinet is divided. This is what should be removed. The third mandate should be like a first attempt at a first mandate and “We Continue the Change” will have the leading role. Its electorate gave the rights to the leader. They will have a leading role when it comes to a figure for Prime Minister,” commented the political group’s chairman.
Bulgaria’s President presents GERB-UDF with a mandate tomorrow
“There is Such a People” once again confirmed that they will discourse with everyone except for GERB, MRF and “Vazrazhdane”, if they receive the third mandate.
“In our opinion, it is not morally right for the position of Prime Minister to be taken by Kiril Petkov and Assen Vassilev. If the mandate goes to “Democratic Bulgaria”, they carry the responsibility to conduct negotiations with the rest of the political formations. We get along just fine with them, as well as with our colleagues from BSP, the same is the case with many colleagues from “We Continue the Change”. The guilty ones would be the those who push the country into yet another political crisis and elections. Currently, the only ones who speak of this topic, except for the opposition, are “We Continue the Change”.
