The Roman Tthermal Baths, one of the symbols of the Bulgarian coastal city of Varna, are crumbling.

In the past 3 years, the number of visitors there has decreased by over 70%.

The Regional History Museum has no money for restoration. Because of administrative procedures, funding is difficult to find. It is possible that the site will be closed to visitors if urgent restoration of the main walls is not carried out.

The Roman Thermal Baths are one of the most valuable monuments of culture in Varna. They are a complex of Ancient Roman baths (thermae) in the Black Sea port city of Varna in Northeastern Bulgaria.

The Roman Thermae are situated in the southeastern part of the modern city, which under the Roman Empire was known as Odessus. The baths were built in the late 2nd century AD and rank as the fourth-largest preserved Roman thermae in Europe and the largest in the Balkans.
