A woman was hit and killed by a train travelling from Bourgas to Sofia. The accident occurred near the town of Belovo, Southern Bulgaria, in the early hours on October 7. The woman was 54 years old, from Golyamo Belovo. The cause of the tragic accident is not clear at this stage.
According to initial data, the woman jumped on the tracks.
The incident was reported 35 minutes after midnight to tel. 112. The driver and assistant driver have been interviewed, the police press office said.
Work to clarify the tragic incident is ongoing, pre-trial proceedings have been opened.
