The Ministry of Health approved a loan of BGN 35 000 000 to "Alexandrovska" Hospital for repayment of arrears to suppliers of goods and services for the medical institution, the department's press center said.
After analysis, it was found that the hospital was at unprecedented risk of becoming insolvent and unable to service its accumulated debts. This calls for the immediate intervention of the principal in the person of the Minister of Health, and apart from the loan, other options will be sought to save the company.
In order to optimally protect the public interest, a state financial inspection and internal audits will be carried out, the purpose of which will be to establish the current state of the hospital and the risks to it, including the appropriateness and legality of the management and the decisions taken.
In order to proceed to the actual absorption of the loan and satisfaction of creditors with overdue claims, the management of the hospital is expected to quickly fulfill the conditions set by the decision of the previous government of 22 July 2022.
