Former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, whose party GERB in coalition with UDF won the October 2 early parliamentary elections and the Minister of Transport in former PM Kiril Petkov’s cabinet, Nikolai Sabev, have submitted applications to the Central Election Commission, stating they are giving up their seats as MPs in Parliament.

Their claims were upheld.

Boyko Borisov headed the GERB list in two multi-member constituencies, 25th in Sofia and 16th in Plovdiv. Two more candidates of GERB - UDF gave up their seats as MPs - Ivan Grancharov and Ivan Mihovski from 11 multi-member constituency in Lovech.

Nikolai Sabev was the leader of the list of "We Continue the Change" in Rousse.

"I see that "We Continue the Change" has won the hearts of many Bulgarians and I am sure that what we started then is now the cause of a large part of the society.

The political start-up is now an established party, and I am confident about its future.

"I never wanted to be a professional politician, and now I think I will be useful in improving the business environment more than I would be in the political arena," he said in a statement.
