"The closure of the Specialised Court and Public Prosecutor’s Office was the right move, because it degenerated into something different, that was not its original idea," Krum Zarkov, caretaker justice minister, said on "The Day Begins".
And he clarified that this move with the closure is only part of the recovery of the system.
"There is still a lot to be done, especially regarding the big wound - corruption in high levels of power and there comes on the agenda the famous law on anti-corruption, which we are working on so that it is in a better version than the one that was submitted at the end of the last parliament, but was not voted anyway", said Krum Zarkov.
There are three directions on which work is being done - additional guarantees for the independence of the commission that will deal with this issue, security for the investigating inspectors, because this is an investigative body, these investigating inspectors will have to have independence from the commission itself, and third but not least - the fight against corruption in high places of power not to be diluted with other proceedings and procedures.
