The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) will stand independently in the upcoming early parliamentary elections. This became clear from the words of the MRF leader, Mustafa Karadayi, after the Central Council of the MRF held today, August 5.

The Council has analysed the political situation in each region and has adopted criteria for nomination of MPs.

The leader of the party - Mustafa Karadayi - will be the head of the Election Campaign Staff.

The criteria for MPs are to be an electable personality with good public image, sharing the ideas of liberalism. Nominations go up the structures from the bottom, Karadayi said.

On his second meeting with Erdogan, he said that there are issues to solve the problems of the people and the security of the country. The meeting with Erdogan is important, in this global energy and gas crisis, Bulgaria should have a look at the supply routes, which are not many. Turkey has an important role to play here. The good news is that Ankara looks favourably in this direction, Karadayi said.

Mustafa Karadayi congratulated the caretaker cabinet for setting up a gas crisis management headquarters to make the situation clear and look for solutions before winter. "The previous government tried to turn lying into a norm," the MRF leader said.

The MRF leader cautioned to be careful with political talk towards neighbours and pointed out that social media posts by the until recently ruling coalition put the country in an awkward situation.

Referring to the upcoming vote, he said, "It would not be news if I say that any political party does not want others but is looking for majority independently. However, in practice, there is no prospect of a one-party rule in Bulgaria."

In the face of an energy and political crisis, the MRF believes that the first anti-crisis measure was to topple the ”We Continue the Change” government. The MRF now calls for a responsible attitude towards these elections because Bulgaria needs the MRF even in government.

"As far as I can see, political cabinets are changing and this is normal," Karadayi said regarding personnel changes undertaken by the cabinet.

A new finance minister is building a model for governance, he said regarding the replacement of National Revenue Agency director Spetsov and pointed out that this is not revanchism but a normal change.

On Russia's decision to expel 14 Bulgarian diplomats, he said questions should be directed to former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and the services when Bulgaria expelled Russian diplomats.
