The fire near Kazanlak flared up again
The ammunition was transported and destroyed by a specialised team from the Second Mechanised Brigade on 17 August in the area of the training centre.
Members of the 61st Mechanised Brigade from the Kazanlak region were immediately involved in extinguishing the fire, and for two days they fought the blaze together with employees of the Regional Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection, the State Forestry Department, police and volunteers from the Ministry of Interior school in the town.
Continuous track machines from Maritsa East Mines were digging fire breaks to isolate the fire and prevent it from spreading in the difficult terrain.
With their actions, all those involved in containing the fire managed to ensure the safety of people living near the range, as well as to ensure the fire did not spread on different fronts.
Thanks to the quick and adequate response of everyone, no incidents were allowed to occur and no one was injured.
