Members of the parliamentary Energy Committee have accepted a proposal by “There is Such a People” to reinstate Ivan Ivanov as chairperson of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.
The decision was supported by MPs from TISP, GERB-UDF and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms on July 27.
The final decision will be taken in plenary.
The proposal came after the Constitutional Court ruled the election of the current head of the energy regulator, Stanislav Todorov, null and void.
Ivan Ivanov is a former chairperson of Bulgaria’s Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC).
