The caretaker Minister of Finance, Rositsa Velkova, on August 5, dismissed Pavel Tonev from the post of Director of the Customs Agency and temporarily appointed Pavel Gerenski, who until now held the post of Deputy Director.
Pavel Evtimov Gerenski has an extensive experience in the Customs Agency and in-depth knowledge in the area of customs and excise legislation.
In the period from 1994 to 2009 and from 2014 to 2019, he held various positions, including: customs inspector at “Kulata” customs office (1994 - 2005); deputy head of Sofia regional customs directorate, “Kulata” customs office(2005 - 2009). ); Head of the Sofia Customs, Kulata Customs (June - December 2009); Head of Plovdiv Customs (July 2014 - February 2019) and Director of the Thrace Territorial Directorate of the Customs Agency until his appointment as Deputy Director of the Customs Agency in May 2021.
He is a graduate of the technical university, Sofia, and holds a Master's degree in Electronic Manufacturing Technology.
