PM Petkov after coalition council: We will do everything possible for Bulgaria to continue with the same government

"I would like to thank the coalition partners who are with me, that we all realise how responsible task we have and how Bulgaria should not get into another political crisis. We are all together, united and we want to reassure all members of the public that whatever depends on us, we will do it so that Bulgaria continues with exactly the same government it has at the moment," Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said after the meeting of the coalition leadership this evening.

He assured that the partners in the coalition have come to an agreement and will do their best to pass the budget update and to guarantee the security of the Bulgarian people.

We are not going to allow Bulgaria to enter into a spiral of elections at a time of war, when we have an energy crisis, a gas crisis, when the Recovery and Resilience Plan relies on 22 laws to be passed by the end of the year in order to get the money from Brussels. We are all united in saying “no” to chaos, “yes” to the fight against corruption and “yes” to the changes in the anti-corruption commission.
