Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation in connection with the information published in various media that the lorry which exploded on the Crimean Bridge on the territory of Russia on October 8, 2022 had passed through Bulgaria.
A prosecutor from Sofia Prosecutor's Office immediately ordered an investigation of the available information under Art. 145 para. 1, item 3 of the Law on Criminal Procedure.
The check has been assigned to the Ministry of Interior and the State Agency for National Security (SANS), and upon completion, the materials should be reported to Sofia Prosecutor’s Office for assessment of the collected data and the existence of grounds for initiating pre-trial proceedings.
Additionally, Sofia Prosecutor’s Office received a notification letter from SANS about the Agency's investigation into the case.
The public will be informed about the results of the probe, the state prosecution said.
