By order of the mayor of Svoge, Valentin Mihailov, the state of emergency, introduced after the sudden drying up of the Iskretska river, has been lifted as of 10 o'clock this morning, August 22.
Svoge declares state of emergency as water supply stopped due to dried up river
It is expected to be announced today whether the water in Svoge is fit for drinking.
A few days ago, the drying up of the Iskretska River left Svoge(Western Bulgaria) and nearby villages without water and tonnes of fish died. The local government said that 25 tonnes of fish were taken for incineration over the weekend.
The water supply in the area has been fully restored, but is still only used for sanitation.
