Three people were killed and three others injured in an explosion at the Bulgarian military plant “Arsenal”, in the town of Kazanlak, central Bulgaria, on October 4.
The blast occured shortly after 11.00 at Plant 4 of the armoury, where pyrotechnics are stored. A loud rumble was heard. Three workers were killed.
Three others who were injured were taken to the Kazanlak Medical Emergency Centre. One woman has burns and will be transported to a specialised burn clinic.
Caretaker Minister of Economy, Nikola Stoyanov, also commented said he spoke on the phone with the owner of Arsenal plant. "We have offered all the assistance the ministry can provide. It is too early to talk about the causes, at the moment all efforts are focused on dealing with the consequences," he added.
Ambulances and fire engines arrived at the scene, a team from the Labour Inspectorate is also travelling to the plant.
