The energy crisis and the coronavirus pandemic are among the challenges the caretaker government has to tackle, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Iotova said on August 3.
"First of all, I wish them a lot of courage and bravery, because these are not one and two crises that they have to tackle in a very limited period of time. I hope that after the elections there will be a regular and stable cabinet. They have two main tasks - to bring back stability to the country and the second is to ensure the security of the Bulgarian citizens - from energy supplies to the situation with Covid," she said.
Referring to the words of the leader of the socialist party, Kornelia Ninova, that the caretaker cabinet is revengeful towards the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Iotova said that the socialists in the cabinet are extremely good experts. She stressed that the efforts should be directed towards solving the crises and not towards revanchism.
"I don't know what Ms Ninova was referring to, if she was referring to the three ministers who are still members of the BSP National Council today, I think they are a source of pride for any party whose members they are - Ms Lecheva and Krum Zarkov, and Yavor Gechev. These are people who have proven themselves expertly, professionally, politically, with their own opinion, with their own position. The things and the decisions to be taken in the coming months are much more important for the Bulgarian citizens than any revanchism and arguments with any political leader," the Vice President said.
Yotova took part in a ceremony at which the winners of the creative competitions for children and adolescents from Bulgarian communities around the world, which are organised annually by the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, were honoured.
