Voting began in Bulgaria’s October 2 early general elections

On October 2, 2022, Bulgaria is holding early parliamentary elections. Voting started at 7:00 am and will close at 20:00 this evening.

Voters can only vote with voting machines in regular polling stations with at least 300 registered voters. Paper ballots will be used in polling stations with less than 300 voters.

6,624 MP candidates will take part in the race for 240 seats in Bulgaria’s Parliament.

Approximately 6.6 million Bulgarians are eligible to vote.

Voting will take place in 11,600 polling stations across the country. There are 775 polling stations abroad, of which 301 will have voting machines..
